What does it take to make justice truly child-centred?
Last week, YOPE’s International Coordinator Ludmila Andrade joined the General Assembly and Annual Seminar of the Child Friendly Justice European Network (CFJ-EN).
This year’s theme, ‘The Value of Investing in Child-Centred Justice’, led to important conversations about what it really takes to put children and young people first.
One thing is clear: meaningful change requires more than isolated efforts. We need connected systems, professionals who are equipped to listen, and respond, and policies and funding that recognise the full picture of young people’s lives and experiences.
As Ludmila herself puts it:
“Investing in children means investing in better and more integrated systems, more prepared professionals and evidence-based approaches.”
As a proud member of CFJ-EN, we’ll keep bringing young people’s voices, experiences and expertise to the table. See you at the next conversation!
