INTERNATIONAL programs
Through our international projects and collaborations, YOPE conveys what we know to like and unlike-minded organisations, learns from others and strengthens collective efforts for youth participation and child-friendly justice in the Netherlands and abroad.
Based on YOPE’s extensive experience working directly with youth and professionals both in the closed youth care and justice system in the Netherlands, we have developed a wide range of programmes and initiatives. Those have been adapted and replicated in other contexts in order to integrate youth’s perspectives in the justice system and strengthen child-friendly justice practices.

In our international partnerships, YOPE is committed to:
- Open source methodology: sharing our lessons learned with others in order to benefit young people in contact with the justice system beyond the Netherlands;
- Open exchange: promoting cross-learning and collaboration with and among other stakeholders, while keeping youth’s perspectives at the center;
- Fostering a network: building and fostering an inclusive and participatory network for sustainable and collective impact in youth justice – including youth, civil society, policy-makers, justice professionals, and academics.
